The Soulless Defender (often called Fire Mage previously) is a humanoid enemy mob. This mob uses a fire wand to aim and shoot fireballs at the player. When not actively shooting fireballs, it puts up a fire shield around itself which cannot be crossed (without glitches) and inflicts damage if you try to go through it. The fireballs do 350+ damage (without shield), but you can easily reflect them with your sword, back at the mage or other mobs. Advanced players can use dash attacks to reflect the fireballs, or aerial down attacks to inflict damage. However, the fireballs do massive damage so even advanced player may get killed in one shot. There is a variant of Defender in Sir Valkan's Stronghold called Castle Defender that you will need for a quest.
Trivia

- You can stand on a mage when it isn't using the fire shield, for example this is possible on the third Defender in Daragorn's Lair.
- In Daragorn’s Lair, you can go up with a bat and get to the backside of the mage.
- The amount of damage given on a mage's shield is reflected on the player.
